Dear Editor,
It seems there is disgruntlement in some quarters with which the swiftness of compensation was meted out to vendors who suffered losses, damages and destruction to property in the mayhem of riotous Tuesday (KN June 30). Well destruction was swift and unhindered so compensation must be swift and unhindered. I would only ask that claims being made are legitimate and verifiable, and persons do not scam the system, as was done in other cases of assistance.
By the way, those who suffered losses, destruction and damages in the 2020 West Coast Berbice riots, were they too compensated?
To the persons who suffered and had to endure the trauma and tragedies of Tuesday, I offer my prayers and comfort that you would be able to overcome the ordeal and transgressions against you as you pick up your lives in the shortest possible time.
