Dear Editor,
Is the “One Guyana” message an empty political slogan, or is it a sincere aspiration of the President? If the President is sincere, he first needs to sell that message to the people at all levels of his administration- national, regional and the NDCs. For instance, for some time now, government has been giving out baby broiler chicks, ducklings and stock feed to predominantly one set of people. What about those who are not perceived to be its supporters? Aren’t we all Guyanese? Do some of us pay our taxes to another country? How come all the people who clearly meet the criteria and are deserving of this assistance are not all entitled to receive it, regardless of our racial or political affiliation? This is an example of the hypocrisy and the blatant discriminatory practices carried out against poor people by of our “caring” government. “One Guyana” my foot!
Yours truly,
Dougla
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
