Kaieteur News – After three completed rounds of the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA) organised Vishnu Super Store Second Division 40-over Cricket Competition has been put on hold due to the inclement weather.
The competition which is for teams in the Upper Corentyne area which takes in the Crabwood Creek to 43 areas including Black Bush Polder has some 30 teams participating. The teams have been divided into four zones with the top two teams in each zones advancing to the next round.
However, since the tournament began play it has been badly affected by the inclement weather. As such, the UCCA has decided that is unfair to let the competition continue with some teams playing and others having their games washed out.
The decision to put the competition on hold was expedited with the heavy rains over the past few days.
The UCCA will meet shortly to make a decision on the continuation of the competition. (Samuel Whyte)
