Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – I note with interest letters criticizing those groups of Guyanese, who expressed alarm that the Government should welcome Bolsonaro who has, since he took office, instituted naked and wicked racism against Brazil’s indigenous people and his disrespect, disdain for Brazilians of African descent.
Kit Nascimento and Vishnu Bisram, both posed the same question, which is where were these Guyanese, who I describe as patriots, when according to them, there was an attempt to steal elections in 2020.
First, I can see no relationship between the two issues. If as they say, an attempt to rig elections in 2020, what has that to do with the Brazil’s President mistreatment as contained in the letter written by a number of patriots?
But Editor, I hate to think it, but is it that Mr. Kit Nascimento, because he is of the same dominant group as Bolsanaro has no feeling for people of Amerindian (native Brazilian) and person of African descent, similarly is that Vishnu Bisram being a member of neither of the groups that have been slaughtered and sidelined by the Bolsonaro regime has no feeling for that group and therefore he and Nascimento believe that these people do not deserve to be treated as human beings.
The burden of the letter written by the group including Karen De Souza, Ms. Wilkinson and Dr. David Hinds and others cannot be ignored. In this day and age, when there is a universal call to treat black people, white people, brown and yellow, as human beings who deserve compassion and justice by the likes of Bolsonaro, and I am disappointed that these two Gentlemen, Nascimento and Bisram have failed to appreciate the burden of the letter, signed by the group. There is no other issue.
I remain yours sincerely,
Eric Moseley
