Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – How can the Government justify that it is promoting inclusive, participatory, responsive and representative decision-making at all levels, when it rushed through the multi-generational Natural Resource Fund Act without giving all stakeholders adequate opportunities to make submissions and raise their concerns?
How can the Government claim that the new Act reduces the power of politicians? The new Act seems to give power to more politicians when compared to the previous Act, which gave too much power only to the Minister of Finance.
How will the new ACT establish an arm’s-length Sovereign Wealth Fund insulated from political interference? This is the promise made by the PPP/C in its 2020 manifesto.
Regards
Muhammad Alli
