Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – Surely the Government cannot be pleased with the seven percent increase—which amounts to five thousand dollars to public servants in receipt of the minimum salary—in view of rising cost of living. How can this be seen as conscionable? The authorities got this one wrong. The increase for this category of employees should be tax-free. But it is better, if it could have been offered at least for the lower rung employees. Seven percent can’t wuk!
