Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – It seems the authorities will not get it right in the massive distribution of flood relief to farmers, affected by flooding earlier this year, which continues to be disastrous (‘Massive discrepancy found in flood relief distribution’ KN Nov 12).
From the beginning, it seems the rollout of the exercise was poorly and haphazardly done. Hence, the over seven thousand complaints now lodged where it is alleged by regional authorities that unscrupulous persons are double and treble time registering at the various locations across the region.
It is posited that once it is found and proven those persons manipulated the system for their benefit, and they were found to receive the grant previously, those persons be placed before the court with intent to knowingly defraud.
Regards
Shamshun Mohamed
