Kaieteur News – Top national junior Swimmers Olympian Aleka Persaud and the talented Leon Seaton Jr., head a list of nine swimmers selected for the Junior South American Championships from November 8-14 in Peru.
According to Chaperone of the team, Loren Mahaica the Guyana team arrived in Peru on Wednesday evening and was booked at the Qorianka Hotel. “We had our first interactive training session with coaches and swimmers on November 4, at 10am and had our first Pool training session at 5pm. Training continued yesterday at 6am and then at 5pm and same will continue until Sunday November.” Scott informed.
“So far, the swimmers are all in good health, conducting themselves well, eating their meals provided, training and hydrating as necessary. Also, for those having to attend class sessions are managing well.”
The GASA thanked the Government of Guyana and the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) for making the trip possible.
