Kaieteur News – Guyana and the Cayman Islands battled to a 0-0 stalemate in their opening fixture of the CMU20 Qualifiers, Group D in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, yesterday afternoon. The game saw end to end action as both teams went after each other in search of what turned out to be an elusive goal at the Estadio Panamericano Stadium.
The other nations in Guyana’s group, Nicaragua and U.S. Virgin Islands were scheduled to face off last evening at the same venue. Guyana will now turn their attention to tomorrow’s match-up against the US Virgin Islands from 16:00hrs at the same venue followed by Nicaragua and the Cayman Islands from 19:00hrs.
The winner of each group will advance directly to the Round of 16 of the 2022 CMU20, scheduled to be played next summer.
