Kaieteur News – With over 25 years of dedicated service to youth, and over a decade of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education delivery, the Volunteer Youth Corps Inc. (VYC), a local nonprofit, is now opening the doors of its full-time academy for the year 2021-2022.
According to a release from the organisation, VYC’s academy will provide modernised and small size classrooms, as well as a team of highly skilled educators prepared to enhance the learning experience, while ensuring their safety and security.
The release noted that the VYC’s specially designed curriculum prioritises STEM education, petroleum education and environmental studies along with a focus on the Ministry Education’s curriculum.
The Academy is registered as an educational Institution under the Ministry of Education and comes as a result of our decade long STEM-Afterschool programme, which is currently implemented at 17 high schools across Georgetown through partnership with ExxonMobil Guyana.
In its new venture, VYC’s mission incorporates innovation, creativity, and is all inclusive ensuring that every student is cared for.
