Kaieteur News – Dorado Speed Swim Clubs14-year Vladimir Woodroffe made waves to take the Champion Boy title in the 13-14 category competing at the 29thAnnual Aquatic Centre International Invitational which concluded yesterday at the Aquatic Centre in Barbados.
Accompanied by his father for the three-day Meet which commenced on Friday, the versatile swimmer produced outstanding performances over the duration of the competition winning six Golds, three Slivers and a Bronze.
On Friday, Vladimir started in auspicious fashion winning Gold in the Boys Open 400m freestyle, Gold in the Boys 13-14 years 200m Individual Medley and Silver in the Boys 13-14 years 50m backstroke.
He continued his good form on Saturday with Gold Medals in the Boys 13-14 200m Freestyle and 100m backstroke and a Bronze medal in the Boys 13-14 100 Freestyle.
Yesterday, Vladimir finished up the last day of competition with two Golds and one Silver medal. He won the 1500m freestyle and came back to win Silver in the 50m fly then Gold in the 200m backstroke.
His next assignment will be at the National Aquatic Centre in Guyana on October 17 when GASA holds their time trials for the World championships in Dubai, UAE.
