National men force game 5
Kaieteur News – Game four of the Guyana Volleyball Federation’s (GVF) organised five game series between the National Select men and the National Under-23 men served off on Friday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) at 19:30hrs and when the final whistle blew, the National men had forced a game five following a gritty five-set win over the new generation.
Prior to the match, the under-23 side held a 2-1 advantage and were determined to finish off the series but the senior men had other plans and leveled it 2-2.
In Friday’s match, the u-23 team won the first set 24-23 before the second and third sets were claimed by the seniors 25-22 and 25-19 respectively. The u-23 team came back bouncing in the fourth set to win it 25-19 and the seniors then went on to close out the game and claim game five 17-15.
The top scorers from the Senior National team were Vance Harding with 19 points, Quacy Matheson with 16 points and Trevon McRae with 12 points.
The standout performers for the losers were Tyrone Farley with 16 points, Kristoff Shepperd with 14 points and Ronaldo Bobb with 12 points.
Game 5 of the series will be played on the 15th of October 2022.
