Kaieteur News – Team Daniels development round robin Tapeball competition which is being organised by level 2 cricket coach Anthony Adams and level 1 cricket coach Debra Daniels continued on Sunday last at Zorg, Essequibo Coast.
In the U13 category, Dee’s Angels defeated the South under 13 boys by 48 runs. Batting first, Dee’s Angels scored 68 for 5 with Devine Ross scoring 19 not out and Nickesha Narine scoring 17. Bowling for South under 13, nine years old Angel Pearson took 2-10, Ravid Fredericks 1-14 and Otis Roberts jr 1-9. South Under 13 were bowled for 21, in reply.
In another fixture, Sandpit Females batted first and posted 92 for 2 off their allotted 10 overs. Simoen Edwards struck eight sixes in a top score of 56 while Adina Smith made 17 and Carrina Smith 13. Bowling for Fempower, Shellon Fiedtkou took 2-30. Fempower scored 85-4 in reply. Former Essequibo U19 player Desmona Hill, making a return to competitive cricket after 10 years, top scored with 29 and Miranda Persaud got 27. Bowling for Sandpit, Ashana Domingo claimed 2 for 9 and Carrina Smith 2 for15.
In the male 7- a-side round robin played on the same day, Vipers led by Trevor Benn, dominated after being offered the chance to play all their preliminary matches. They defeated, Warriors by 24 runs in their opening encounter. Batting first, Vipers scored 86 for 1. David Williams made 52 with seven sixes while Mark Jeffers contributed 13 not out. The wicket to fall was Anthony Adams run out for 19.
In reply, Warriors made 62-2. Brian Mangal made 37 and Gavin Sharma got 22.
In their second encounter, Vipers scored 113 for 2 off their six overs. Anthony Adams made 39, David Williams 29, Mark Jeffers 22 not out, Uriah Stoll 18 not out. Bowling for Hurry Up Norman Fredricks took 1 for 22. Hurry Up responded with 78. Nathan Persaud scored 42 and Chandie Jairam 30 not out.
In another fixture, Vipes made 58 off their reduced quota of 10 overs with Anthony Adams scoring 41. Jaguars in reply got to 25 for 1.
