Dear Editor,
Following the court ruling, the union has shifted gear and has suspended protest action and is making a case for the GS in urging dialogue with Education Ministry (Demerara Waves, Sept 18). One can only wonder if the court had granted the reliefs sought, whether the protest would have been suspended or the ante upped? The belated disassociation of the union against the derogatory remarks of a sitting minister rings hollow, and has come now with the hope an audience with Education Ministry will be the eventual outcome.
