Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – It has been weeks now that the government has been saying they need a dedicated website to publish oil production data. Why can’t the government publish the oil production data on the Ministry of Natural Resources website? It already publishes the oil lift data on this website. If the oil production data is in PDF and spreadsheet form, it can easily be uploaded to the existing website. The Ministry of Natural Resources website appears to be using the free open-source software called WordPress. We at OGGN (www.oggn.org) use WordPress to run our website. It is just a few clicks to create a new page and embed PDFs and spreadsheets into the page, which take minutes not weeks!
Many countries such as Columbia and Nigeria upload production data to their websites within weeks of the oil being produced. One can find their PDFs and spreadsheets at the links below.

It has been five years since oil has been discovered, but we seem to lack capacity to get basic oil related activities accomplished. As part of our diaspora-peopled support to our country, on behalf of the Oil and Governance Network (OGGN), I would like to offer my services to help the Government of Guyana publish the oil production data promptly. Here are some of my qualifications:
i) I previously worked for a major technology firm developing software that was used to deploy major online shopping sites for such companies as Costco, IKEA, and SONY. For the product development, I held the role of Chief Architect and Programmer for one of the major technology companies in the world.
ii) I have 15 patents granted in eCommerce, augmented reality, and security, etc.
iii) I have received three Outstanding Technology Achievement Awards.
iii) I have presented on technology to executives at some of the major companies in the World such as AT&T and Staples. A summary of my career is available at https://www.linkedin.com/in/cloudcommerce/. The government may contact me at [email protected] to help get the oil production data published. This will help to accomplish President Ali’s vision for transparency in all things.
Sincerely,
Darshanand Khusial
