Kaieteur News – In an article, published in our Friday, June 25, 2021 edition, headlined, “Three arrested for Haresh Singh’s murder,” it was stated that none of the men arrested had given a confession, a statement that was attributed to Crime Chief, Wendell Blanhum.
In a release, which the police issued yesterday, it was noted that, “For clarity, Mr. Wendell Blanhum never made that statement. This contention is false and the reporter who prepared the story was contacted by the Crime Chief to have same retracted and corrected immediately. All assurance was given that the article will be corrected.”
Indeed, the offending aspect of the article has been retracted and we hereby offer an unequivocal apology to Crime Chief Blanhum and look forward to the Force’s commitment to make public the details of the ongoing investigation when it is completed and legal advice is obtained.
