Kaieteur News – The Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday announced that a 59-year-old man from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) who tested positive for the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease has died.
As a result of this, Guyana’s COVID-19 death toll moved to 459. According to the Ministry’s release, the man died on Thursday while receiving treatment at a medical facility.
Further, the Health Ministry in its daily COVID-19 dashboard recorded 109 new cases, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 19,674.
The dashboard also revealed that 17 patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 99 persons are in institutional isolation, 1,473 in home isolation and one person is in institutional isolation. To date, a total of 17,626 persons have recovered from the virus.
