E’bo youths are first recipients of gear
Essequibo youths are the first recipients of cricket gear from Project: “Cricket gear for young and promising cricketers in Guyana”.
In a simple but significant ceremony held recently, eight young cricketers from the Essequibo Coast were recipients of cricket gear, four of them a bat each and the other four a pair of batting pads each. The youths were selected by cricket enthusiast, Travis Simon. The recipients were: Omarion Smith, Ijthihad Kadier, Marlon Barcly, Parmesh Persaud, Obed Nedd, Rajesh Kellawan, Devendra Lall and Joshua Hackett.
Three batting pads, one helmet, one batting gloves and one gear bag are added to the collection by Kishan Das of the USA.
Gear collected so far: Ten pairs of batting pads, nine bats, four pairs of batting gloves and two gear bags.
The used and new gear will be distributed free of cost to young and talented cricketers who need help across the length and breadth of the country. Talent spotting will be done and club leaders will also give guidance. Skill, education and discipline are the key attributes for consideration.
Persons who wish to make a contribution can contact me or Kishan Das of the USA. We take this opportunity to thank Imran and Javed Khan of West Indian Sports Complex, Option Group, Bish Panday of P and P Insurance Brokers and Sean Devers.
This initiative is a joint effort by Anil Beharry and Kishan Das in the USA.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
