Kaieteur News – Sunday’s Team Alanis Cycle Club (TACC) organised 60-mile cycle road race sanctioned by the Guyana Cycling Federation and approved by the National Covid-19 Task Force has received support from Ele’s Trading & Hardware.
Owner of Ele’s Trading & Hardware, Eybo Orford in handing over his contribution to President of TACC, Paul Choo-Wee-Nam, known for his exploits on the bodybuilding stage and powerlifting platform shared that he has been associated with cycling since 2015, just after leaving school.
“I rode for two years before heading the University of Guyana to peruse studies in Business Management. It is a very tough sport but also very beneficial to your overall fitness and wellbeing. So I am doing this as part of my love for the sport and I would like to encourage others who wish to pursue cycling to be dedicated because without dedication you cannot be successful.”
The top six cyclists in the senior category along with the top three in the junior and veteran’s categories would all receive cash incentives. The race will start just outside the National Park entrance on Carifesta Avenue, proceed to Mahaicony and return to the starting line for the finish.
The best riders in the nation are expected to face starter’s orders in a race that is expected to be very competitive.
