Kaieteur News – A robbery convict, who escaped from the Lusignan Holding bay in September last year, was recaptured during a cordon and search operation by police yesterday.
The prison escapee, James Moore, 23, was nabbed around 06:15 hrs., in A- Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown.
Moore had escaped from prison on September 29, 2020, while serving a three-year sentence for armed robbery. That day, he was booked out of one of the holding bays to perform kitchen duties. When prison officers decided to check on him later that afternoon he had disappeared and had been on the run since then.
According to a Guyana Prison Service release, Moore will be charged criminally for escaping from lawful custody.
