Kaieteur News – Jonathan Foo smashed an unbeaten 133 from 66 balls and Kandasammy Surujnarine made 119* from 71 balls as Clermont Cricket Club of Florida defeated host Everest CC Masters by nine wickets in a 25-over contest recently.
The duo featured in an unbroken 244-run partnership in the chase of 269 in 25 overs.
Everest Masters took first strike and posted 268-2. Bhaskar Yadram’s struck163 from just 77 balls. The right-hander smashed 15 sixes and nine fours before he was dismissed by Devendra Bishoo. Sahadeo Hardieow was the other batsman dismissed for one.
Yadram shared a stand of 222 with opener Basil Persaud, who stroked 69 (9x4s; 1x6s) from 62 balls, while Richie Looknauth supported with an unbeaten 24 (3x6s).
Bishoo ended with 1-60 from his five overs and Sharaz Ramcharran had 1-55 off his five.
In response, the Clermont CC lost Elroy Fernandes for just nine off the bowling of Rajesh Singh, but his demise brought together the power-package of Foo and Surujnarine, who smashed the bowlers to all parts.
Foo plundered eight sixes and 11 fours, while Surujnarine cleared the ropes seven times and struck 13 fours, which sealed the comfortable win with nine balls to spare.
Prior to the Everest clash, Clermont won against Chesney Masters and Jai Hind Masters, and lost to Edinburg Masters.
