DEAR EDITOR,
While elections in Guyana are held in a democratic manner, Democracy is not inherently practiced by the PPP.
As we, all know, in the PPP, the Central Executive Committee selects Leaders in the PPP as opposed to Members electing Leaders in the PPP. This is not Democratic at all.
What criteria are used to select leaders, Guyanese citizens ask?
When Members are allowed to elect their Leaders, then the PPP will evolve into a Democratic political party. Which means, they will then govern in a Democratic manner whereby accountability, transparency and good governance are not just words.
Sincerely,
Sean Ori
