Kaieteur News – The Board of Directors, management and staffer of the Guyana Oil Company Limited (GuyOil) has a new Deputy General Manager. Her name is Molly Hassan.
She was the former Chief Executive Officer of the state-owned National Communications Network which runs a string of television and radio stations across the country but had resigned in 2016 shortly after the Coalition government entered office.
According to a government statement, Hassan is the holder of a Diploma in Marketing from the University of Guyana, a Bachelor of Arts in Business (Marketing) from the Anglia Ruskin University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with specialisation in Business Analytics and Digital Marketing.
Hassan previously contributed to the private and public sectors in the areas of FMCG, furniture and electronics, media management and fast food operations.
She has over 20 years of combined professional experience in the areas of management, marketing and customer service, a government statement said.
The core responsibilities of the Deputy General Manager include Sales and Marketing, Business Development, Corporate Social Responsibility and Quality Control of GuyOil’s eight service stations and terminal facilities.
Hassan was interviewed and selected by the Board of Directors and joined the company on Monday last.
“The Deputy General Manager intends to focus on ensuring that the company meets its volumes target and improve the delivery of its services. Ms. Hassan will be working along with the General Manager, Mr. Trevor Bassoo, to ensure that GuyOil achieves its goals and objectives by implementing strategic and efficient methods. Ms. Hassan will have the full support of the Board of Directors, Management and Staff as she functions in her role as Deputy General Manager,” the statement revealed.
