KMPA, GCOS & Ansa McAl assist students

Kaieteur News – The King-Medas Pansy Adonis (KMPA) foundation along with the Guyana Committee of Services (GCOS) and beverage giant; Ansa McAl Trading, have all collaborated to help eight student-athletes towards academic success.
The organisations have donated a desktop computer to each child and have pledged to pay for all of the subjects that the students plan on sitting at the Caribbean Secondary Education Examinations (C.S.E.C).
The KMPA foundation played a vital role in organising this charitable gesture and the head of the body; Andy Medas-King, shared with Kaieteur Sport, that since the fourth annual KMPA Junior Olympic Games has been cancelled he decided to give back in whatever way he can.
During the third Junior Olympic Games last year, at the Lusignan Community Center ground, over 300 student-athletes took to the field for the opening day.
The featured 10k race on the third and final day saw the biggest race; the senior male 5k carrying a winning purse of $50,000, 2nd $40,000, 3rd $30,000, while the senior females had the winner running away with $40,000, 2nd $30,000, 3rd $15,000.
In addition to cash prizes, the 1st to 10th place finishers received trophies, while some lucky student-athletes received sponsorships from the KMPA Memorial.
Medas-King further shared with this publication that the KMPA will not stop at this point and they are currently working with the GCOS on a massive project that would eventually see each track and field athlete being equipped with a pair of sport shoes.
