Kaieteur News – The inaugural Devon Ramnauth Development Youth Cricket League, which is schedule to be played in Region Two, has been postponed due to the inclement weather.
Constant rainfall has left the grounds unsuitable to host matches at the moment and a new schedule will be released as soon as play can be facilitated.
The tournament was scheduled to commence earlier this month at Pomona, Golden Fleece and Imam Bacchus grounds. The competition involves six teams; Essequibo Eagles U19, Golden Fleece Vikings Youths, Queenstown U19, Rising Star Spartans, Reliance Hustlers Youths and United Warriors.
The top two teams will contest the final, while there will also be a third place play off and a female exhibition T10 game. The winning team will receive the Courtney Gonsalves trophy, the runner will take home the Alfred Maycock trophy, the third place team will be given the Morris Brandon trophy, the most valuable player will pocket the Forbes Daniels trophy and the female winner will receive the Hakim Khan trophy. There will also be awards for the male and female players with the most runs and most wickets.
