Cricket West Indies (CWI) regional Video analyst Randy Latif is requesting from Minister of Culture Youth and Sports Charles Ramson Jnr. financial assistance to enhance cricket here.
According to Latif he really wants to make cricket analysis a career but is saying financial support is a hindrance.
Latif stated that he works with young and aspiring cricketers across Guyana to help detect any deficiency. He strongly believes because of his expertise in the area of analysing the game from a bird-view, it will help cricketers come out better.
For the past three years, Latif had done regional four-day matches for Guyana Jaguars at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence and the regional limited-over tournament as well, but he is eager to travel with the teams when playing matches in different territories.
In 2017, Latif attended a CWI Analyst Training Camp and mentioned that motivated him to be a professional in this area.
“I was encouraged from there on; I love what I [am] doing and I want to do it for my country so the cricketers would benefit; but I just need financial assistance to move forward,” Latif related.
He continued to say that he is a teacher by profession but wants to be employed as a cricket analyst permanently by analysing players and have stats available and to stream the game.
“I can be available for a cricket consultant to the Guyana Cricket Board to provide footage to the head-coach so they can work with that along with the stats,” Latif assured.
He also took the opportunity to say that with statistics like these it must be noted that it can address players’ downfall and strength as well.
“I have been doing coding as code reflects on the area of strength and weakness of specific players which includes wagon wheel, worms, accuracy and variations,” Latif revealed.
Latif is not only ambitious to work in the cricket environment. He is also a qualified CWI umpire and would have played the game at the youth level domestically.

(Kaieteur News) – There was a time when things were used as they were intended. A fork for eating and a bed for sleeping.
