DEAR EDITOR,
After one long month, the APNU/AFC monarchy is still squatting in government at the expense of tax payers’ money, which would have been better used to fight the COVID -19 pandemic at this time. I ask de facto president Granger, why at the local and international levels, individuals and organisations have to beg APNU and GECOM to verify and tabulate the SOPs and/or recount the votes for Region/District # 4 in a transparent and credible manner for March 2, 2020 General Elections, more so, for the national recount of votes (an undertaking you initiated and signed to for CARICOM to supervise)?
Stop running behind the courts for cover and buying time to delay your departure from office. And, just to remind you, that you have done the same before, by using the courts to throw out a valid No-Confidence Motion of December 2018, and you didn’t succeed. So what makes you feel, you will succeed this time with rigging the results of a national elections?
In concluding, I wish to offer some words of advice from an ancient religious text, “When sound dialogue fails to resolve an issue; citizens’ actions (in whatever form) become necessary”. So why beg?
Sincerely yours,
Paul Ramrattan
