The Executive members of the Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB) have extended sympathy to the family of the late Managing Director of Guyana Beverage Company Inc (GBC) Robert Selman, who passed away in Trinidad and Tobago on Monday last.
A release from the board stated that the members of the executive committee are all saddened at the passing of Selman. “Mr. Selman, through the Guyana Beverage Company, has contributed a lot towards the development of cricket in Essequibo and he will surely be missed.”
“Mr. Selman was an amazing human being who loved sport in general and he has left a void that will be hard to fill,” the release went on.
Under Selman leadership, the GBC Inc sponsored first division cricket in Essequibo for a number of years and also held inter club tournaments in Wakenaam.
