The Georgetown Softball Cricket League (GSCL) Inc will be hosting a T20 four-team tournament starting at 10:00hrs today at the Everest Cricket Club.
The tournament is being used as preparation for the local teams that will be participating in the upcoming Orlando Cup in the USA.
Fisherman Masters are brimming with confidence following their five-wicket victory over Regal Masters in the final on Sunday last at Ogle, when the GSCL Inc opened their season, and will look to continue their winning ways. However, they will be hard pressed to do so since Regal Masters are upbeat of chalking their first win of the season.
Wellman Masters have been doing well and will be looking to correct their mistakes from Sunday’s encounter so a keen contest is anticipated.
Erie Sharma was named man-of-the-match in last Sunday’s final and will lead Fisherman Masters’ challenge with support coming from Jagdesh Persaud, Pooran Singh and Rocky Ramsarran.
Regal Masters will be led by Mahendra Hardyal and include Eric Thomas, Mahase Chunilall, Eon Abel, Laurie Singh, Mohendra Arjune and Unnis Yusuf, while Wellman Masters will depend on the experience of Mike Singh and Wayne Jones along with Nandram Samlall, Lloyd Ruplall, Sheldon Perch and Troy Lewis. No entrance fee is required and at stake are trophies.
United States Ambassador to Guyana Sarah Ann Lynch will grace the venue during the course of the day.
