Good Success and Sans Souci recorded victories when play in the Wakenaam Cricket Committee/Bel Air Rubis and Trophy Stall T20 competition continued on Sunday last at the Wakenaam Community Centre ground.
Good Success beat Zeelandia by 50 runs. Good Success were asked to bat and posted 164-9. Openers Mahase Ramnarine and Tulsieram Ramadeen handed them a solid start as they capitalised on the power play overs. Ramnarine struck six fours and two sixes in a top score of 39, while Ramadeen made 32 with four fours and one six. Following their separation, Zeelandia managed to pick up a few quick wickets, but Vickram Ramnarine and Davindra Hansraj propped up the total; Ramnarine scored 25 with one four and two sixes and Hansraj got 23 including two fours and a similar number of sixes.
Navishaul Pooran took 2-11, Saga Jadookool 2-19, Ronnie Gangaram 2-27 and Mohindra Jadookool 2-35. Zeelandia responded with 114-5. Ryan Atkinson scored 20 and Saga Jadookool 18; Wazir Khan picked 3- 21.
Sans Souci defeated Sans Souci Jaguars by one wicket in their encounter. Batting first, Sans Souci Jaguars made 111 all out in 20 overs. Nokta Moses scored 24 and Zameer Zaman 22; Devon Rambaran captured 3-13, Seon Venture 3-20 and Cleon Venture 2-20. Sans Souci responded with 112-9 in 15.2 overs. Oyono Sampson struck 22 while Jaggernauth Manbodh made 18 as Zaman claimed 3-18 and Sanjay Jairam 2-13.
The competition continues on Sunday.
