Defending champions, Annandale Secondary stayed within two points of leaders Lodge Secondary after thumping St. John’s College 12-0 on Sunday when play continued in the second annual Guyoil/Tradewind Tankers schools’ football league at the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) National Training Center at Providence.
Omari Glasgow netted a double hat-trick, while Colin Henriques scored four goals to be the most devastating of the forwards. Ajaye Sobers and Seon Haywood scored one goal each to take the East Coast boys’ tally to 12 against the City school.
Annandale will now have to defeat Lodge Secondary that has won all their matches in the final game of the league on December 11 to retain their championship while anything else would see last year’s runners’ up, Lodge lifting the title.
Meanwhile in the opening game of Sunday’s double-header, Charlestown Secondary drew 3-3 with The Bishops’ High School.
