Wins for Ogle, Lusignan and Fairfield in Rubis U15
The Enmore CCCC/Banks Beer 100 ball cricket tournament continued last Sunday with matches at Lusignan and Enmore. Ogle CC Blasters, Lusignan SC (A), Industry Stars and Lusignan East Strikers will join ECCCC Dynamos and Strathavon Super-stars in the quarterfinals this Sunday at Lusignan and Enmore grounds by virtue of wins last Sunday.
The summarized scores from last Sunday are as follows: At Lusignan, Lusignan SC (A) defeated Lusignan East Strikers by six wickets. Lusignan East strikers scored 137 for 6 with Hardeo Jailall scoring 78 and R. Jailall 20. R. Basdeo and K. Bishundyal grabbed two wickets apiece. Lusignan SC (A) reached thier target in 15 overs whilst losing four wickets in the process. S. Ali made 42; Somnauth Bharrat 39 and Kumar Bishundyal 31 not out were the principal scorers.
At Enmore, Industry stars defeated Lusignan SC (B) by six wkts. Batting first, Lusignan SC (B) were bundled out for 57 in 10 overs, with A. Persaud grabbing 4 for 11 from 2 overs, M. Jeenarine and S. Boodhu two wickets. Industry Stars reached their target in nine overs with Irfan Ali unbeaten on 23.
In game two, Ogle CC Blasters got the better of Fairfield SC by 19 runs. Ogle Blasters were restricted to 116 all out. Orlando Persaud scored 36 and Andrew Samaroo 26. Richard Chaturia took 3 for 14 for Fairfield SC who were then limited to 97 for 9 from their allotment of overs. K.George made 37 whilst Dion Thomas bagged 3 for 17.
In quarterfinals this Sunday at Enmore, Strathavon Super-stars will be up against Cane Grove Renegades at 10:00 hrs whilst Enmore CCCC Dynamos will host Industry Stars at 14:00hrs.
At Lusignan, Lusignan East Strikers will match up against ogle CC Blasters at 10am, whilst host Lusignan SC (A) will face LBI SC in game two at 14:00hrs.
The second edition of ECCC T/10 cricket competition is also slated to commence this Sunday at Strathavon ground with four matches. ECCCC (B) vs Golden Achievers SC at 10:00h, Mahaica SC vs Fairfield SC at 11:45h, Lusignan B vs Young Rivals at 13:20h and Mahaica Cavaliers vs Cane Grove Renegades at 15:15 h.
The Rubis Bel Air sponsored U15 competition continued last Saturday with three matches. Ogle CC defeated Strathavon SC by 109 runs at Ogle ground. Ogle CC made 155 for 6 from 30 overs, with James Persaud and Josh Alves making 25 apiece. Strathavon SC responded with 46 all out in 14 overs. Joshau Alves bagged 4 for 12 whilst Josh Alves and Tyriq Walyers took 2 for 12 and 2 for 4 respectively.
At Enmore, the host went down to Fairfield SC 62 runs. Fairfield SC batted first and made 127 for 9. ECCCC were then bowled out for 64 in 19 overs.
At Lusignan, Lusignan SC defetaed President’s College by four runs. Lusignan SC scored 132 for 5 from 30 overs, with Nicholas Shiopersaud scoring 32 and A. Daterdeen 24. President’s College competed well to reach 128 for 9 before the overs expired. O.Whinfied made 24 whilst N. Shiopersaud took 2 for 19.
