The Guyana Mixed Martial Arts Karate Association was invited to an International Inter-School Martial Arts youth championship games in Trinidad & Tobago, last Sunday, where Guyana’s Master Lloyd Ramnarine sent an instructor in Sensei Roman Pollard to represent that ‘land of many of waters’.
Sensei Pollard participated in five events namely the Open Form, Sparring, Grappling, Traditional Weapons Form and Padded Weapons in which he copped one Gold medal, two silver and two bronze medals.
Speaking with Kaieteur Sport yesterday, Pollard noted that he was very pleased with his performance in the event that was contested at the Aranguez North Secondary School and he expressed anticipation to participate in another such international engagement in the near future.
