Competitors will be looking to end the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) 2019 Drag Race championship on a high and fans can expect to see keen competition today from 10:00hrs.
Yesterday, the Surinamese along with the local competitors did testing and tuning at the drag strip located in Timehri and all systems are set for thrilling battles in the last drag race meet of the year.
Although fans will be happy to see the outspoken Surinamese get hushed by the local boys, the main attraction will feature Team Mohamed’s GTRs, Team Trans Pacific 2JZ powered Alteeza, S&D Performance’s Caldinas, Supra and RX7 and the Hellcat powered Starion.
S&D Performance has been the closest rivals of Team Mohamed’s that are almost always in a race of their own, pushing their Nissan GTRs Godzilla and Goliath to achieve racing excellence and set new records.
Team Mohamed’s driver Terrence Cox had hinted that the local fans had yet to see the full power of the GTRs and fans will be eager to see the machine in action today. Meanwhile, Team Trans Pacific is hunting the Alteeza world record while the Hellcat has a lot to prove.
The GMR&SC and the Rotary Club of Demerara have teamed up to make a positive impact in October, the month that is designated globally towards cancer awareness. The two organisations plan to donate 10% of the gate receipt to the Beacon Foundation to assist with care and treatment of cancer patients.
General admission tickets cost $1,000 each, VIP $4,000 each; children under 10 would be admitted free.
