The 592 Beer and I Cool Water inaugural T10 softball competition will conclude today at the Queen’s College ground. Teams will battle in the playoffs followed by the semi finals and final with the champion team taking home a trophy and $100,000 while the runner-up will pocket a trophy and $30,000; the man-of-the-match in the final will receive a trophy and $5,000.
Trophy Stall Bourda of Market has thrown their support behind the competition. The entity’s proprietor Ramesh Sunich presented the winning trophies to organiser Samuel Kingston.
Sunich said he is pleased to be given an opportunity to be part of the competition and wished the teams well. Kingston stated that the tournament is expected to be keenly contested since a number of top local teams are in the playoffs. He expressed gratitude to Sunich.
Additionally there will be a Masters Over-45 and Over-50 competition playing simultaneously.
The 15-overs Over-50 competition will feature Regal Masters, Savage Masters and Parika Defenders with the winning team taking home the 592 Beer trophy, while the teams competing in the Over-45 category are Regal Masters, Fisherman Masters and Wellman Masters. They will battle for I Cool Water trophy.
Both competitions will be played on a round-robin basis and the runner-ups will each receive a prize. The teams that will contest the playoffs are Avengers XI, Farm XI, Up Setters, Success Youths, East Coast All Star, Omesh XI, Speed Boat, LBI All Star, Lowland XI, SVC Grill Masters, Booths XI and Ariel Enterprise All Star. Action starts at 09:00hrs.
