Devon Boston, Neil Cadogan, Zalika Griffith and Sanaa Jacks turned in sterling performances to emerge as champions of their respective events when the Morgan’s Learning Institute staged its Inter House Track events on Tuesday last at YMCA, Thomas Lands.
Boston of Falcon House won the boys U16 discuss ahead of Joel Talbot and Ryan Bumbury both of Macaw in that order. Neil Cadogan of Toucan House overpowered his rivals to win the javelin boys U18 title; Alwin Hoopies of Raven finished second and Ronaldo De Abreu of Toucan was third.
Boston was again in winner’s lane when he claimed the javelin boys U16 title; Ryan Bumbury ended second and Jared Saden of Raven was third. Zalika Griffith of Raven carted off the javelin girls U16 event; Amachi Lowe placed second and Leneice Graham of Raven finished third.
Chike Nurse and Chioke Nurse of Falcon House and Macaw House respectively showed their all-round ability as they both won the shot-put boys U12 event. Following their fine performance in the pool on Friday last, Chike Nurse and Chioke Nurse both cleared 10.5m to be declared joint winners.
Adrian Phillips of Raven House placed second with 10.3m while Govinda Prashad also of Raven claimed third spot with 6.9m. Shawan Henry of Macaw won the shot-put girls U12 event after clearing 10.9m with her throw.
Sanaa Jacks of Raven took the shot-put girls U18 title with 20.6m while Alana Davis of Macaw took the runner up spot on 19m and Crystal Blair of Toucan finished in third position on 15.4.
The Discuss girls U14 title went to Kyla Barrow of Toucan; Rohanna Knights of Falcon placed second while Shyanna Emanuel of Macaw was third. Cadogan of Toucan won the shot-put boys U18 event while Anil Singh of Falcon grabbed second place and Jued Deziel of Toucan placed third.
Adrian Phillips of Macaw captured the javelin boys U12 title ahead of Chike Nurse and Chioke Nurse respectively. The Girls U12 title went to Shawan Henry of Macaw. Joel Talbot of Macaw took the top podium spot in the shot-put buys U16 event while Adeymi Craig of Raven placed second and Shacquon Liverpool of Toucan finished third.
Ianka Gonsalves of Falcon won the discuss girls U16 event. The boys U16 discuss was won by Devon Boston ahead of Joel Talbot of Macaw and Ryan Bumbury of Macaw in that order. Kayla Barrow emerged champion in the shot-put girls U14; Rohanna Knights of Falcon placed second and Mariza Joseph of Toucan was third.
Michael Nwarie of Toucan captured the shot-put boys U14 title while Joshua Morrison of Toucan and Dimitrius DeMendonca of Macaw finished in second and third position respectively.
Aaron Casbert handed Falcon another win when he captured the javelin boys U18 event; Jude Deziel of Toucan placed second and Isiah Stephen of Raven finished third.
The girls U18 javelin title went to Krystal Blair of Toucan; Alana Davis of Macaw took the runner up spot and Danielle Greaves of Toucan placed third. Joshua Morrison won the discuss boys U14 event while Antonio Enmore of Raven was second and Michael Nwarie third. Janna Jacks turned in an outstanding performance to win the discuss girls U18 event while Krystal Blair and Alana Davis took second and third places respectively.
Action continues today with the track events at the Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary.
