The third annual King-Medas Pansy-Adonis (KMPA) Junior Olympic Games and Road Race will be contested this morning when the lucrative 5k event runs off from Bachelor’s Adventure and finishes at the host ground for the games, the Lusignan Community Center (LCC).

Kcaysha Medas-King (616) came from behind to beat Roshana Reynolds of New Amsterdam United in the girls’ 13-16 years-old 400m final.
It will be a fitting end to the four-day event that began on Thursday last with field events, heats and sprint relays on Friday while the sprint finals were contested yesterday. Scores of student-athletes from all across the country with some coming as far as Linden and Corentyne lined up on the track to match their speeds yesterday from as young as the 6 years-old and under to the seniors.
The organiser of the event, Andy Medas-King who is committed to developing track and field from the grassroots level up, was pleased with the turnout.
Today’s 5k road race is going to be a lucrative event and the senior male winner will receive a purse of $50,000, 2nd $40,000, 3rd $30,000 while the senior females will see the winner running away with $40,000, 2nd $30,000, 3rd $15,000.
In addition to cash prizes, 1st to 10th place finishers will receive a trophy while some lucky student-athletes will receive sponsorship, compliments of the KMPA Memorial.
Below are the results of the various 100m and 400m sprint finals that were contested yesterday.
Boy’s 9-12 years-old 100m – 1st Jaylon Choo, 2nd Keon James, 3rd Vibert Mingo.
Girl’s 9-12 years-old 100m – 1st Atheleyha Hercules, 2nd Akeela Dover, 3rd Shaquana Redmond.
Girl’s 13-16 years- old 100m – 1st Brianna Charles, 2nd Princess Browne, 3rd Queanna Taylor.
Boy’s 13-16 years-old 100m – 1st Shem McKenzie, 2nd Simeon Shepherd, 3rd Job Fraser.
Girl’s 17-20 years-old 100m – 1st Juvonna Cornette, 2nd Nataliea Ally,
Boy’s 17-20 years-old – 1st Deron Roberts (10.73s), 2nd Eon Bollers (10.97s), 3rd Kofie Eilead (11.19s).
Girl’s 6 & under 400m – 1st Malalah Downer (1m 41s), 2nd Aliyana Austin (1m 47s), 3rd Dhalia Allen (1m 49s).
Girl’s 8 years & under 400m – 1st Kunusasha Medas-King, 2nd Ayesha Austin, 3rd Denise Summer.
Boy’s 8 years & under 400m – 1st Doris Lamar, 2nd Salim Horatio, 3rd Hezekiah Vanier.
Girls’ 13-16 years-old 400m – 1st Kcaysha Medas-King , 2nd Roshana Reynolds , 3rd Shelena Semple.
Boy’s 13-16 400m – 1st Tyrese Whartin, 2nd Seon Booker, 3rd Issano Fields.
Boy’s 17-20 years-old 400m – 1st Jamal Millington (52.39), 2nd Rivaldo Europe (55.78), 3rd Murphy Bagot (56.78).
Men’s 400m – 1st Seon Budhan (51.32s), 2nd Karl Vanier (54.47s).
