On Sunday, the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) concluded another round of training for polling day staff with some 2,030 persons receiving
training. They were drawn from Regions 1, Barima-Waini; 2, Pomeroon-Supenaam and 10, Upper Demerara-Berbice.
Public Relations Officer (PRO), Yolanda Ward told the Department of Public Information (DPI) that the training sessions held on Saturday and Sunday, saw 382 persons from the Barima-Waini Region being trained. The turnout in Regions 2 and 10 were 779 and 869 respectively.
Along with the three regions, the elections body has also conducted training in Georgetown, East Bank and East Coast and Region 5, Mahaica-Berbice.
