Archery Guyana’s Indoor Championship 2019 has received sponsorship from Seven Seas for the event which will be held at the National Gymnasium today, Sunday 25th August and Sunday 1st September.
The Schedule for the event will see:
Sunday August 25th 10am to 3pm – Ranking round and team pairing
Sunday September 1st 10am to 3pm – Elimination and Finals
Competition Format features: the Ranking round of 18m round (72 arrows)
Elimination and Finals round – set system 18m
Categories:
Junior men – Archers born after 1999
Junior women – Archers born after 1999
Men – No limit
Women – No limit
All categories will consist of: Ranking round of 72 arrows shot at 18 meters with 40cm target faces (1-10 scoring zones). Ends of 6 arrows shot in 4 minutes.
An elimination and finals round at 18 meters with 40cm target faces (1-10 scoring zones). Set system.
A mixed team round: Teams to be formed by a man and woman based on highest ranking male with lowest ranking female and vice versa.
Equipment Restrictions:
The requirements of 11.1 (world archery rule book) shall apply in their entirety with the following additional provisions or modifications.
The bow shall be of a simple design either a take apart (with wooden or metal riser) or of one-piece construction.
In both type of bows, the limbs shall be wooden and/ or fiberglass construction. No carbon limbs will be allowed.
The arrow rest shall be of simple flexible or rigid design and it be non-adjustable.
A simple non-adjustable pressure point may be used and shall be placed no further back than 2cm from the throat of the handle.
One (1) simple draw check indicator, audible or visual may be used. This indicator shall give only one indication of draw length.
The sight pin may not be a fiber optic type.
Stabilization shall not incorporate a V-bar.
Arrows shall be marked with the archer’s name.
