On Day two, Friday August 16th at the CAREBACO Junior Under-19 International Badminton Championship, which is being played at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium in St. Michael, Barbados, Guyanese players advanced to four Semi-Finals and Medal Rounds after defeating their opponents in the Quarter-Finals.
Priyanna Ramdhani moved through to the Singles, Doubles & Mix Doubles, Tyrese Jeffrey in Doubles & Mix Doubles and Akili Haynes in the Doubles.
The Quarter-Finals Results on Day-2 are:
Men Singles:
Tyrese Jeffrey of Guyana, who picked up a knee injury, lost in a thrilling three setter to Leon Cassie of Trinidad: 21-14, 19-21, 21-14
Ladies Singles:
Priyanna Ramdhani of Guyana defeated Robyn Sobers of Barbados: 21-6, 21-4
Men Doubles:
Tyrese Jeffrey & Akili Haynes of Guyana defeated Sean Butcher-Nurse & Alexander Price-Greaves of Barbados: 21-10, 21-10
Ladies Doubles:
Priyanna Ramdhani of Guyana & Chequeda De Boulet of Trinidad defeated Kayleigh Moenne & Faith Sariman of Suriname: 21-14, 21-5
Mix Doubles:
Priyanna Ramdhani & Tyrese Jeffrey of Guyana defeated Jair Naipal & Chaista Soemodipoero of Suriname in a thrilling three setter: 19-21, 21-18, 21-16
The Semi-Finals were scheduled for last evening where the players will battle to get into the finals.
