New Diamond Primary School Girls’ team retained their title when play continued recently in the Lower East Bank Demerara
zone of the 22nd Annual End of School Year Al Sport and Tour Promotions/National Sports Commission Edward Cobenna Memorial Cricket Champions Trophy.
New Diamond Primary overcame Craig Primary by eight wickets in the final at the National Gymnasium. Craig Primary batted first and scored 71-3 with Tenisha Evans and Tenisha McDonald scoring 22 each. New Diamond replied with 76-2; Angel Alleyne struck 34, while Realima Kanhai made 30.
