Guyanese body building gem, Hugh Ross, didn’t get to win his fourth World Masters’ Body Building Championship yesterday in Belfast, Northern Island, but he finished with a respectable third place.
At the Ulster Hall in Belfast, Guyana’s most accomplished body builder who will celebrate his 60th birthday on the 26th of this month finished behind local boy Brendan Surgeoner, who won the event and second place Andy James of the United Kingdom.
In a whatsapp correspondence to Kaieteur Sport, Hugh noted that, “I’m satisfied with my showing and there isn’t anything that comes to mind that I could have done that wasn’t done. I did my homework as is usual. Given the time frame I had to prepare, I am very satisfied with my performance and the outcome of my appearance. They have just relit the competitive fire in me and there will be more to come.”
