An early morning fire of unknown origin caused the destruction of a South Ruimveldt home and the displacement of the four persons who occupied the premises.
The building, Lot 169 Guidance Place, was once home to Estelle Prince, 89, Alvin Clarke 43, Calricia Clarke, 32 and Dein Kennedy, 29.
Around 3:30 AM on Saturday morning, the upper flat of the house went up in flames. The fire service was called but by the time it arrived on the scene and got the equipment set up, it was too late for the building since it had already been engulfed in flames.
The Guyana Fire Service has since initiated an investigation to ascertain what would’ve have caused the fire.
