DEAR EDITOR,
I would like to highlight a very frustrating situation as a resident living in South Ruimveldt.
There are a few cows that are roaming the area every single day. Very late at nights they are seen still roaming the streets. I have no idea who owns these cows, but in almost every street one walks these cows are there.
On Saturday last, three of these cows made their way into my yard again and were under the house. I tried to no avail to chase them out, but they lay there reeking of urine and faeces. They took the liberty of urinating repeatedly and defecating in my yard of which I had to clean.
I had to allow my garden to die, because by the time something is springing up, these animals make their way through the yard of the house behind mine at the back, across the alley into my yard, and feast on my plants.
This is not the first, second or third time this has happened. I am beyond fed up, because this is a residential community and livestock ought not to be parading around without supervision. If it’s not cows, it’s goats, it’s sheep. I’m just tired.
Can the relevant authorities please look into this? I am not against anyone earning a livelihood, but it cannot be to the disruption of the peace of another person.
Frustrated Resident
A. Glen
