t at the Guyana Rush Saints FC ground with Strikers Football Club coming back from a goal down to defeat Snipers Football Club in the final.
The match was decided in the first half as all three goals were scored in the first 45 minutes. Snipers had taken the lead in
the 26th minute through a John Gabriel goal which silenced the Strikers FC players and fans, momentarily.
Seven minutes later, Strikers struck their first goal of the match to draw level, Vento Gregory finding the back of the nets. And with two minutes to go before the half way point, Kelvin John fired Strikers into the lead, his goal timed at 43 minutes.
The second half was competitive but the score line remained unchanged which meant that Strikers FC became the first team to qualify for the National Playoffs.
Meanwhile, in semi final results, Strikers FC thrashed Flash FC 7-1; Naidison Daniels netted a hat-trick (19th, 54th, 82nd), Kelvin John had a brace (10th, 70th) as did Stephen Glasgow in the 85th and 87th minutes. In the other match, Snipers FC squeezed past Rising Stars FC, 2-1.
John Gabriel and Nelson Claude netted for the winners in the 35th and 62nd minutes, while the losers got their goal from Howard George on the stroke of full time.
