To this end, the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) has been preparing for the past month for this championship match with three trial matches at the National Park athletics track that saw over 40 athletes showing up to show their worth on each day.
When Kaieteur Sport contacted the coach of the ‘Green Machine’, Kenneth Grant-Stuart, he revealed that he has selected 27 players that will be encamped from last evening before being reduced to the final 23 by tomorrow.
The list of the 27-players in training are as follows: Jason Tyrell, Rickford Cummings, Rondel ‘Bull’ McArthur, Jose Felicien, Kevon David, Richard Staglon, Jamal Angus, Vallon Adams, Ryan Gonsalves, Godfrey Brooms, Avery Corbin, Peabo Hamilton, Lancelot Adonis, Jamal Darrel, Joseph Rahaman, Cyon Kitt, Phabian Joseph, Kiefer Lopz, Selwyn Henry, Osie Mckenzie, Ronaldo Mayers, David Garrett, Ryan Dey, Glenroy Pool, Cloyd Prowell, Jamal Junior and Sean Philips.
Should Guyana get a likely victory over Guadeloupe, the Green Machine will then host North Zone winners Bermuda (who defeated Jamaica 43 – 14 on March 9th) next month for the RAN overall title.
