The SPR Enterprise/East Coast Cricket Committee 40 overs competition amongst teams on the East Coast Demerara continued last Sunday with several matches.
Enterprise Busta SC defeated Strathavon A by five wickets at Strathavon thus securing vital points in Group B, in their quest to progress to the semi-finals. Batting first, Strathavon A scored 194 for the loss of nine wickets with Gobinraj Hemraj stroking 85. Zaheer Mohamed bagged 3 for 41 from eight overs. Enterprise Busta SC reached 197-5 in the 38 overs. Mohamed returned to hit an unbeaten 61.
Ogle CC who are also in line for a semi-final spot from group A, whipped Mahaica SC by 186 runs at Ogle ground. Ogle CC batting first, scored 263 for 6 in 40 overs. Khenchandra Dindyal slammed 82 not out and Andrew Samaroo 74. Mahaica SC were bowled out for 77 in 20 overs in reply. Ayodha Persaud took 4-21.
Lusignan East defeated Buxton SC by 64 runs at Enterprise. With both teams competing with Fairfield SC for a semi-final spot from Group A, Lusignan East were dismissed for 232 in 38 overs, batting first. H. Jailall made 66 and K. Jailall 41. Andre McFarlane took 3-67 and Owen Andrews 3-20. Buxton SC were bowled out for 168 in 34 overs in reply. Anthony McFarlane scored 63 as Pradesh Balkissoon claimed 4-47.
Host Cane grove SC defeated Strathavon SC B. Strathavon B batted first and made 116 all out in 22 overs. Narendra Mohamed bagged 6-15. Cane Grove SC reached 118 in 14 overs with C. Ajeday scoring 31. Jermain Persaud took 3 for 43 for Starthavon B.
Lusignan B defeated Golden Achievers SC at Lusignan ground. Lusignan A are leading the points table on 14 followed by Buxton and Lusignan on nine each in zone A. Enmore CC are on top of zone B with 15 points followed by Enterprise Busta SC on 12.
