Officers & HQ won on Tuesday while F Division & G Division were victories on Wednesday in the Commissioner of Police Birth Anniversary Inter-Division and Branches T20 cricket Tournament being played at Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.
In the first match on Tuesday, Officers beat TSU by 8 wickets with Stephen Harris making 67 (7×4 3×6) and Clifton Anderson hitting an unbeaten 44 (3×4 2×6) to lead Officers to 178-2 off 15.5 overs.
TSU batted first and made 173-5 off 20 overs with Eon Rodrigues making 89 (6×4 7×6) and Ken Elexye scoring 28 (2×4); Richard English had 2-14 and Colin Sullivan 2-30.
In the second game, Headquarters took on ‘D’ Division with the latter batting first and made 174 for 6 off 20 overs. Adrian Welcome made 58* (5×4 5×6) and Jason Anderson 32 (5×4). Bowling for Headquarters Kevin Allicock took 2-19 off 4 overs.
Headquarters replied with 178-5 off 15.4 overs, Kangaiya Ramkarran made 75 (4×4 8×6), Kevin Allicock 27 (3×4 1×6) and Troy Benn 20. Ronald Allyen took 2-14 off 1.4 overs and Boshnarine Lalbachand 2-43 off 4 overs. Headquarters won by 5 wickets.
Wednesday Matches
Game 1 – ‘A’ Division vs ‘F’ Division: ‘F’ Division batted first and made 94 all out off 19 overs. Lennox Andrews made 53 (3×4 2×6), bowling for ‘A’ Division, Kevin Leitch took 3-21 off 4 overs, Jason Heyliger took 2-21 off 4 overs and Patrick Morris, 2-2 off 1 over.
‘A’ Division responding were sent packing for 81 with Jason Heyliger managing 22 (3×4) and Kelvin Leitch 12. ‘F’ Division won by 13 runs.
Game 2 – ‘B’ Division vs ‘G’ Division: ‘B’ Division batted first and made 167-8 off 20 overs. Troy Drakes hit 25 (4×4), Kenar Amsterdam 23 (3×4 1×5) and Kord Griffith 19. Bowling for ‘G’ Division, Jason McCalmont had 2-12 off 2 overs and Kwasi Abrams 2-37 off 4.
‘G’ Division reached 169-5 off 18.4 overs to win by 5 wickets. Kwasi Abrams led with 43 (5×4 2×6), Thameshwar Dhanpaul 29* (1×4 3×6) and Oyona Sampson 24* (1×4 2×6). Griffith returned to take 2-20 off 4 overs.
