Having recognised the increase in the jailing of youths for small amounts of marijuana and bringing it to the attention of the Government and people, it seems as though I have aroused some anger.
It seems that more and more young people are going to prison for three years for small amounts of marijuana. How inconsiderate and oppressive to poor people.
I say this because only the poor are heading to prison because he or she couldn’t post bail or he or she was never granted bail.
The Government must act now to stop this injustice which criminalises our youth. Those in the developed world know they must bring an end to this discrimination and victimisation meted out to our youthful brains; as such they are continuously decriminalising and legalising marijuana in their countries.
I call on the Government to decriminalise
small amounts of the weed for medicinal and recreational activities and stop making criminals of our boys and girls.
I am appealing to our Beloved President David Arthur Granger “Please ensure the decriminalisation of small amounts of marijuana for medicinal and recreational use”.
