Independence A, Mc Gill, Belle Vue and All Youths registered victories when the West Demerara Cricket Association (WDCA) Agape Lumber Yard T20 tournament commenced last weekend.
At Joe Vieira Park, Dynasty went down to Independence A by eight wickets. Dynasty were bowled out for 63 in 11.5 overs following their insertion. Kisha Persaud made 21 as Chevon Williamson captured 4-16 and Reaz Esau 3-13. Independence A replied with 64-2 in 7.5 overs. Seepaul Dhanpaul scored 21 and Wazeer Hussain 20.
At Wales, Mc Gill beat La Grange by 62 runs. Mc Gill managed 153-5, taking first strike. Keshram Seyhodan struck two fours and four sixes in scoring 44, while Abdul Razack made 31 with three fours and Travis Persaud 22. David Manohar took 2-11. La Grange All stars scored 91-7 in 20 overs in reply. Ghansham Singh got 26, Jadesh Ramroop 18 and George Carrington 15. Sudesh Persaud snared 3-22 and Seyhodan 2-15.
Belle Vue overcame Wales by six wickets. Wales were bowled out for 117 in 18.4 overs, taking first knock. Dexter Solomon made 37 as Fazil Bacchus grabbed 4-17. Bell Vue responded with 119-4 in 18 overs. Ryan Seecharran made 33, while Bacchus got 26 and Kerwin Bennet 25 not out. Kevin Lyndo had 2-15.
On Saturday at Joe Vieira Park, Independence B lost to All Youths by two wickets. Independence B batted first and scored 113-6. Ganesh Ram scored 28 and Aaron Seepersaud 19; Amir Imran claimed 3-16. All Youths responded with 114-8 in 19.5 overs. Imtiaz Ghani made 55 with one four and seven sixes as Anand Bharat picked up 3-10.
